Its been kind of crazy since Thanksgiving, like it sometimes gets this time of year, with the holidays and visiting family. Its such a fun time of year but it is nice to get our family in a routine again.
Now that this winter is in full swing, we've come up with some fun activities to do with the kiddos. We drink a lot of hot chocolate too--well, I should say Mona drinks a lot of hot chocolate. Probably 3 sippies of it every day. And after all the snowmen she's been making out in the snow, I would say she's deserved it.
Landon and her make a good team. He builds the snow people (usually Frosty, his wife, and their baby), and Mona dresses them.
That green flute toy is Frosty's "corn cob pipe", and his eyes, nose and mouth are made out of foam paper hot glued to wooden skewers--Landon's creations.
We had a little party at home a few weeks ago when Grandma came into town for Holden's 1st birthday. Then we drove to Thanksgiving Point and looked at their Christmas lights display they put up every year. It was super fun and low-key.
This little guy has stolen all of our hearts. He's just the sweetest boy that has ever lived.
He enjoyed his birthday presents, which consisted of some trucks and planes. He just loves propellers.
And we had snowman cake, which Mona went crazy for, but didn't want to eat of course. Holden liked it okay, he mostly just enjoys eating anything. Especially with his big boy fork.
Christmas was fun too! I got Mona an Ariel tea set for one of her presents and she's been throwing like 5 or 6 tea parties a day, mostly with her stuffed animals and Holden and I. We set out her Ariel blanky on the floor and pour water into everyone's cups and goldfish on our plates and sip real polite-like. The tea set came with an Ariel gown and crown but Mona isn't as into dressing up quite yet. Here she is on the morning she got it, dressed in her Christmas pajamas I made her (which I will do again next year, but start sometime in June, I swear):
